ABOUT US
The Cause Collective is a New Zealand charitable organisation that operates out of Manukau City, South Auckland. The organisation was founded in 2016 and has evolved over the years to have a focus on addressing complex problems by creating the conditions for Pacific peoples and South Auckland communities to thrive. This is achieved by working upstream to address the causes of problems and by strengthening prevention systems.
Examples of the types of problems we look at include alcohol-related harm, poverty, food insecurity, unemployment, youth mental health, obesity, access to services, housing and urban development, and family and sexual violence.
Sometimes it takes a while to see change happen, so telling stories of impact to keep people engaged in social change and health transformation is critically important. This is achieved by drawing on the lived experiences, data, and insights of the people we work alongside.
One of The Cause Collective’s functions is as a Primary Health Organisation (PHO), providing primary health services through our clinical network, or sometimes through the direct delivery of prevention or early intervention services.
The Cause Collective also has a strong focus on capacity building and strengthening social infrastructure through our work with young people, churches, and ethnic communities. This includes the delivery of micro-credentials and providing real opportunities for young people through our South Auckland Creative & Tech Hub.
Our target populations
The Cause Collective is a population-focused organisation and is interested in:
- Our clinical network with an enrolled population of over 127,000.
- Pacific populations across Aotearoa New Zealand.
- South Auckland communities, with a particular focus on Māori, Tangata Moana (those who identify with dual ethnicity Māori and Pacific) and high deprivation areas.
