Clinical Governance
Clinical Advisory Committee
The purpose of the Clinical Advisory Committee is to advance an agenda for health transformation. Members of the Committee provide clinical leadership and expert opinion on the strategy, delivery and performance of population health and social care initiatives and services for The Cause Collective’s target populations.
The Committee exists to strengthen The Cause Collective’s ability to positively disrupt health systems and services for better health outcomes for our target population groups. The Committee seeks to support The Cause Collective to deliver leave-behind results for patients, their families, and the clinicians who work with them.
The Clinical Advisory Committee provides advice directly to The Cause Collective’s Board of Trustees on matters related to clinical determinants of health and wellbeing.
It is important to note that the Clinical Advisory Committee does not operate as a formal committee of the Board to ensure it maintains a level of independence from the Board if required on matters of quality, health and safety, and advocacy positions.
Scope of The Committee
The Committee is concerned with creating the conditions for target populations to be healthy and thriving including in the generations to come. To this end, the core focus areas of the Committee are:
- Clinical outcomes across the life course and for future generations
- Clinical leadership and advocacy
- Health transformation and innovation
- Addressing the determinants of health and the underlying causes
- Strengthening preventive healthcare
- Effective chronic disease management
The Committee recognises the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to achieve Pae Ora, and The Cause Collective’s Oranga Whakapapa initiative as a pathway to achieve intergenerational health and economic wellbeing for Māori.
The Committee recognises the alignment of the organisation to the key documents Te Mana Ola: The Pacific Health Strategy and Ola Manuia: Pacific Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.
